PCORE Electric Company, Inc., formerly the Bushing Division of Lapp Insulator Company, LLC, was formed in July 2004, by management and an investor group led by DeltaPoint Capital Management, LLC and HSBC Capital (USA) Inc.
DeltaPoint Capital is a private equity fund headquartered in Rochester, NY, that invests in management-led buyouts and other change-of-control transactions involving businesses located in Upstate New York. HSBC Capital manages a private equity and mezzanine financing business targeted at profitable, middle-market companies.

Yavuz K. Erkan
Vice President & General Manager
Yavuz Erkan has invested his entire career in servicing the
worldwide electric utility industry, joining Lapp Insulator
Company in its engineering development program and rising
through the company’s sales organization to become Vice
President of Marketing & Sales. His responsibilities during
those formative years included tenures managing domestic and
international marketing & sales programs for Lapp’s
insulator & bushing product offerings.
In 1999, Yavuz participated in the management buyout of Lapp
while serving as Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He
was named Vice President & General Manager of the company’s
Bushing Division in February 2000, serving in that capacity
until joining with DeltaPoint Capital & HSBC Capital to
form PCORE Electric Company, Inc., in the summer of 2004.
Yavuz earned an MBA in marketing
& finance from the Simon School at the University of Rochester,
and has a BS in industrial engineering from Bosphorus University
in Istanbul, Turkey. He attended the electrical engineering
curriculum at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute prior to transferring
to Bosphorus University to explore his cultural heritage.

William O. Fields
Chief Financial Officer
Bill joined PCORE in July 2006 and is responsible for the company's finance, accounting, human resources and IT functions.
Bill brings over twenty-five years experience in financial management of manufacturing and service businesses. In addition
to providing leadership in accounting and administration, he plays a lead role in planning, treasury and risk management.
Bill is a CPA and holds both a BS in accounting and an MBA from Niagara University.

Chungduck Ko, Ph.D.
Director of Engineering & Quality Assurance
Chungduck Ko is responsible for all engineering and quality
assurance activities at PCORE, including the administration
of all R&D projects and the ISO 9001 program.
A widely published author of technical
papers and owner of several patents, Chungduck is a senior
member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society and a technical
advisor to the United States National Committee for the International
Engineering Consortium’s bushing committee. He has been
a reviewer for IEEE papers on transformers, bushings, and
power system analysis for more than 25 years and is a registered
professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
Chungduck previously worked as
a staff power systems engineer at the Cooper Power Systems
R&D Center and as a Fellow Engineer at ABB’s transformer
plant in Muncie, IN. He earned a BS in physics from Seoul
National University and worked as an experimental physicist
at the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute. In the United
States, Chungduck earned an MS in operations research and
statistics and a PhD in electric power engineering, both from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from the University
of Chicago.

Peter G. Schultz
Director of Operations
A veteran of more than 25 years in the bushing industry, Peter
Schultz is responsible for manufacturing operations at PCORE,
encompassing all aspects of production, facilities management,
process improvement, union labor relations, inventory, and procurement
of all components to support the manufacturing floor.
In previous positions at Lapp Insulator, LLC, Peter was supervisor
of the bushing division’s high voltage laboratory, rising
to manager of quality assurance and the high voltage laboratory
and to bushing plant manager prior to PCORE’s acquisition
of the bushing division from Lapp. Peter earned a BS in business
administration from SUNY Brockport and an AS in business administration
from Genesee Community College. |

Mark W. Sommer
Director of Marketing & Sales
Mr. Mark W. Sommer is the Director of Marketing & Sales at PCORE.
He is responsible for all commercial matters encompassing marketing, sales
administration, sales representative management, customer service, contract
administration, advertising, web services, and traffic control. He is in charge
of directing PCORE’s customer-driven product and service extensions and
creating incremental value for the Company. He earned an MBA in Marketing and
International Management from SUNY at Buffalo in 1996 and has a BS in Industrial
Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo in 1995. Mr. Sommer has been employed at PCORE
and its predecessor division since 1997. Prior to being promoted to the Director
of Bushing Marketing & Sales position in February of 2003, his responsibilities
included Bushing Marketing Manager from 2000 to 2003, Product Manager from 1999
to 2000, Sales Application Engineer from 1997 to 1999, and Account Representative
in 1997. Mr. Sommer has also managed targeted channel diversification programs,
extending PCORE’s reach to a greater customer portfolio and capturing
market share in the lucrative after-sales market. |
